Spring themed Valentines Table
Still in lockdown, but still enjoying Saturday night tablescape diversions!
The theme is the welcome advancement of spring and better times ahead as the flowers find their way through the earth into some warmer times; overlaid with pinks as a nod to a Valentine supper for two. Bud vases with a single stem each, show off each British grown spring flower, in their own right to create an airy fresh feel. My inspiration for this style of flowers is my friend, Cathy Graham in New York who does this whimsical look so well. I created a smaller dining area and splashed out on a white linen table cover from The White Company. I am not someone who normally can face the washing and ironing of a proper table cover!! Our spring napkin, including a tulip motif, complemented it all nicely. No washing for the napkin – just goes in my recycle bin instead.
I had popped up to Salt Box & Co Flowers earlier in the day to collect the British spring flowers they had set aside for me. These worked a treat in our bud vases of two sizes. I could not resist adding some snowdrops into a Sibling Gin mini taster bottle… a perfect match as I could not bring myself to put such a cute bottle in the recycling.
As a touch of luxury and to add to the Valentine mood, we treated ourselves to some very delicious English pink sparkling wine from Nyetimber. We are not allowed to call it champagne, of course. It slips down very nicely indeed and relaxes us into a celebratory evening for two!
